and March 20th
Check the Travel Tab for more boat trips.
Our last trip in January was spectacular
with visibilty at Anacapa island ranging fro 40-80 feet.
Anacapa Island- is located approximately 14 miles south
of Ventura, California. Anacapa consists of 3 smaller islets,
East, Middle, and West Anacapa Islands totaling approximately
1 square mile of land and approximately 5 miles in length.
Located only a little over one hour from Ventura Harbor
this makes for a great short ride to spectacular diving.
Anacapa Island boast some of the clearest waters found in
the Northern island chain. The highlights of Anacapa include
the sea lion rookery the return of the Giant Black Seabass
and the incredible kelp forrest. Anacapa is no longer know
for game collecting so its primarily a great photo and sightseeing
destination.
Santa Cruz- Island is the largest and most topographically
diverse of the eight Channel Islands. Santa Cruz Island
is approximately 24 miles in length and encompasses 77 miles
of pristine coastline. Located just 2 hours from either
Ventura or Santa Barbara harbor you will find that this
is the most diverse diving islands of the the eight Channel
Islands. The front side is riddled with volcanic caves both
above and below and offers the scallop gathers a good chance
of filling a bag of booty. The backside is a gentle sloping
islands that has many large kelp beds and offshore rock
formations. This island has something for everyone and is
still in what would be considered the warmer water zone.

and “rewarding” best describe the PADI Rescue
Diver course. Building upon what you’ve already learned,
this course expands on what you already know about how to
prevent problems, and how to manage them if they occur.

they’ve ever taken.
